Just poking my head in to say "hi." I've got several interesting things going on in 3D art land (fun fact: Barbies are extremely hard to demolish), and I've been attempting some polymer clay things (preliminary  results reveal: Kayt fails). Apples--to--Apples is have an awesome theme (hey, go pimp the group out to your friends!), and I've received the ARC of a a Pride and Prejudice continuation.

Plus, Sailor Moon has been picked up for a new English release, so look for fanart soon!

The main reason for posting: a plea to anyone who sees this: please go enter Apples--to--Apples' s current theme! It's _rainbow magical (as of 3/2011), you're allowed to enter any kind of art/writing/photos/etc, and it doesn't even have to be recent art.

Or pimp this out to your friends? Participation has been low for the past few rounds, and I'd love to have more people join. Plus: no obligation to enter every time!

Well, maybe I'm being a little dramatic. But it really is interesting to go way back to the beginning of my gallery and see what I did back then. Sure, I cranked out multiple pictures a month, but those pictures? Were a lot more simplistic than what I do now.

I still struggle with stuff (namely: shading/highlighting) but while picking out pictures for my latest poll (see HERE), I went over the comments. Some didn't have any, some did, but the one that struck me was the Mew Zakuro picture. In the comments, I mentioned that I almost did some shading, yay!

Wow. Every picture I do now, unless for stylistic reasons, I do at least some very simplistic shading and highlighting, and I've got a general idea of *how* it should work.

Anyone else like me and enjoy looking at their old pictures? Or even others' old pictures--I go through the galleries of people I watch and see how they've improved (and often, my old comments on their work. It's quite fascinating.

Dec.2010 So, a few questions for people who watch me:

1) I'm going to try and upload more "real" art from classes soon. Do you prefer that I spread them out as I have been, or that I upload a chunk at once?

2) I'm super-slow but have several things started. So, Kayt's goal for the summer: art. It's been over a year since I started my art minor, I really need to post the stuff. Plus, I've got some lineart that's been sitting around for two years. ARGH. Must get done.

In other news...hi! I know I'm not terribly active on here right now, but pretty arts are coming, I promise...

April 9 Wow, April already? I'm off to Orlando for a five-day trip with my college's choir, which is going to be insanely awesome. I will hopefully come back with a complete 10-minute play written.

I wonder, should I post those? I have several short scenes and scripts done (scriptwriting class), and at least one of them lends itself to a short comic, but I'm so slow with art, people may just enjoy reading the scripts.

Speaking of scripts, I am also attempting to work on _{a film history paper} ^{my art final} _{a complete screenplay} ^{a media press-release kit} an entry for elila's contest. I *know* what I'm doing, the only question is if I'll get it done, considering that there are no less than twenty trillion school events I'm involved with this month. But y'all should check it our, she's got some OCs that are fun to draw!

Ah, OCs. Mine are so woefully pushed aside. I miss playing with them...

March  First off: has had a better response than I first hoped--I'm so excited! If you haven't joined yet, go on! We've got a "FLIRTATIOUS" theme now!

Secondly, hi. Been a while since I posted, huh? My goal to do one non-school thing a month is going fairly well. January and March you've seen, since they were new (Neo Princess Chibi-Usa and Freshly Fallen Leaves respectively). February, though, I cheated a little. I re-wrote parts of my Tokyo Mew Mew oneshot, A Butterfly for My Birthday. They were significant changes to the fic, not just catching spelling/grammar errors, so we'll say that it counts.

I'm on Gaia Online, also, as Dimension Kayt. Not on a whole lot, but my avatar is pretty, yes? XD I thought about setting up a  small art shop for fun--but I'm pretty slow. I suppose I could do quick things for a cheap price. Ah well...

Also: HELLO SPRING.
